Legal
Privacy policy
Last updated 28 September 2026
This policy explains what Straight Up Web collects, why, and what we do with it. We’ve written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, and we handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you use our get-started form, contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, or become a client, we may collect:
- Your name and business name
- Your email address and phone number
- Details about your business, current website and what you’re after
- Any content you send us for your site, like photos, logos or text
- Basic technical information about how you use this website, such as pages viewed
We don’t collect sensitive information (like health or financial details) unless you volunteer it as part of your website content, and we don’t ask for it.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and talk you through your options
- Design, build and launch your website
- Invoice you and manage your account if you become a client
- Provide any hosting, SEO or Google Ads services you’ve signed up for
- Keep basic records for tax and accounting purposes
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for anything beyond running your website and your account with us.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe handles that securely under its own security standards. Stripe may hold your payment information under its own privacy policy.
Hosting and analytics
This website and client websites are hosted on Vercel, which may process basic technical data (like IP address and browser type) to serve pages and provide anonymised analytics. This website also uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and see which pages and forms get used. It doesn’t tell us who you are. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. If your plan includes Google services like Search Console, Google Analytics or Google Ads, those run under Google’s own privacy terms, and you can ask us for details specific to your account at any time.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers needed to do the work: Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, Resend for sending emails, and Google for the services on your plan. We don’t sell, rent or trade your information to anyone else, and we don’t share it for marketing by other businesses.
How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, including limiting who can access it and using reputable providers for storage and payments. No system is completely risk-free, but we don’t hold onto information longer than we need it for.
Access and correction
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time. Email hello@straightupweb.com.au and we’ll sort it out, usually within a few business days.
Cookies
This site uses minimal, privacy-friendly analytics to understand how it’s used. We don’t use tracking cookies to follow you around the web or build an advertising profile of you.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, email hello@straightupweb.com.au first and we’ll do our best to fix it. If you’re still not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as our services change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
