Websites for salons

A site built to get bookings, not just likes

Clients decide from your photos and how easily they can book. Your site needs a real gallery of your work and a booking link that doesn't send them back to Instagram.

What your customers are typing into Google

  • “hairdresser near me”
  • “nail salon near me”
  • “balayage near me”
  • “eyelash extensions near me”
  • “waxing near me”
  • “book a haircut online near me”
  • “gel nails near me”

What your website needs to do

Online booking front and centre

Clients expect to book a salon appointment the same way they book anything else, on their phone, without calling. A booking button in the header, connected to a system like Fresha, is worth more than any other feature on the site.

A real gallery of your work

Colour, cuts and nail art sell themselves in photos. A gallery of your actual clients' results, updated as you go, does more for bookings than any amount of written copy.

A price list that's easy to find

Not knowing the cost of a balayage or a full set is one of the biggest reasons people don't enquire. A clear price list, even with from pricing, removes that hesitation.

Stylist and therapist bios

Clients often book a specific person once they've found someone whose work they like. Photos and a short bio for each stylist or therapist help build that kind of following.

Service pages written within advertising rules

Treatment pages need to describe what you do accurately and legally, which matters most for any cosmetic or injectable-adjacent services, where strict rules govern what can and can't be advertised.

Common mistakes to avoid

No online booking, just an Instagram DM

Running bookings entirely through Instagram messages means missed enquiries and no proper record for you to work from. A booking system on the site catches people outside your opening hours too.

Naming prescription-only cosmetic injectables

The TGA restricts how prescription-only cosmetic injectable treatments can be advertised to the public, including naming specific products or describing them in cosmetic marketing terms. We steer well clear of that kind of wording and stick to services that can be advertised directly, referring anything injectable-related to compliant, appropriately qualified messaging.

A gallery of stock photos instead of real work

Generic beauty stock photography doesn't show a client what your salon actually produces. It's one of the fastest ways to look like every other salon site instead of yours.

Getting found on Google

Salons compete hard on near me searches, so Google Business Profile photos, the right service categories and reviews matter enormously, often more than the website itself. On the site, service-specific pages, balayage, gel nails, lash extensions, help you show up for those exact searches, and a genuine gallery keeps people on the page long enough to book instead of bouncing back to Instagram. Booking has to be frictionless, ideally connected straight to Fresha or a similar system, because most salon enquiries now happen outside business hours. Any cosmetic-injectable-adjacent service needs particular care, since TGA rules limit how those treatments can be advertised at all.

Too big for $500?

We don’t do these at this price, and we won’t pretend otherwise:

  • Sites with more than 5 pages
  • Online shops with a checkout
  • Logo and brand design
  • Custom booking systems or web apps

For those, talk to ClickTheory, our sister studio, which builds custom websites and quotes up front.

Questions from salons

Can you connect Fresha for bookings?

Yes. We link or embed Fresha or a similar booking platform, so clients can book a specific stylist or service straight from the site. It's included in the $500.

Can we sell retail products like haircare online?

We don't build shops with a checkout. Square Online or Shopify suit that better, and we can link your site to one. Or we can add a simple reserve-this-item form as part of the build. For a custom shop, our sister studio ClickTheory can help.

Can you advertise cosmetic injectables on our site?

We're careful here. The TGA restricts how prescription-only cosmetic injectable treatments can be advertised, including naming specific products, so we steer clear of that kind of wording altogether. If this is part of your business, talk to us about compliant wording before we write that page.

We don't have a logo yet, is that a problem?

Not at all. We set your salon name in a clean typeface as part of the build. We don't do logo design. If you want a full brand, our sister studio ClickTheory can help.
