Websites for tradies
A website that gets the phone ringing
Most trade leads come from a phone call, not a contact form. Your site needs to make that call easy, and show up when someone nearby searches for the job you do.
What your customers are typing into Google
- “emergency plumber near me”
- “electrician near me”
- “licensed builder near me”
- “blocked drain plumber near me”
- “hot water system repair near me”
- “landscaper near me quote”
- “24 hour electrician near me”
What your website needs to do
A phone number you can tap
Your number should sit in the header on every page and work as a tap-to-call button on mobile, because most trade enquiries happen from a phone, often when something's already gone wrong.
Pages for every suburb you cover
A single about us page won't rank for a plumber near me search in ten different suburbs. Separate service-area pages, one per suburb or region, give Google a reason to show your site for each one.
Licence, insurance and trade details up front
Homeowners calling a tradie for the first time want to know you're licensed and insured before they hand over a job. That information belongs on the page, not buried in a PDF.
Real photos of finished jobs
A gallery of your actual work, switchboards, bathrooms, decks, tells a visitor more in five seconds than a page of copy. Stock photos of tradies who aren't you don't build trust.
A simple way to request a quote
Not every job needs a phone call. A short form for photos and a description of the job lets people reach out after hours, when you're not free to answer.
Common mistakes to avoid
The phone number is hard to find
Plenty of trade sites bury the number in the footer, or leave it off the mobile layout entirely. If it takes more than a glance to find, the enquiry goes to the next search result instead.
No suburbs mentioned anywhere
If your site only ever says servicing the local area, Google has nothing to match against when someone searches for a tradie in a specific suburb. Name the areas you actually work in.
Generic stock photography
A site full of stock photos of tools and hard hats looks like every other tradie site. It's one of the fastest ways to look like a template rather than a real local business.
Getting found on Google
For tradies, local SEO mostly comes down to matching what people search with what your site actually says. That starts with a Google Business Profile set up under the right trade categories, and consistent business name, address and phone details everywhere you're listed. Suburb-by-suburb service pages help you show up for searches outside your immediate area, and reviews asked for straight after a job, not chased months later, build the trust that gets you picked over a competitor with a blank profile. None of this guarantees a ranking, but it gives Google enough to work with, which most trade sites simply don't.

Questions from tradies
Can you build a page for every suburb I service?
Not at $500. The site has up to 5 pages, so we help you fit your main service areas on them. Most tradies cover their two or three biggest areas that way. Ongoing suburb pages come with our Dominate SEO plan, and for a bigger custom site we refer you to our sister studio ClickTheory.
Do I need online bookings?
Most trade enquiries come by phone or quote form rather than a fixed appointment slot, so we don't push bookings software on tradies by default. If you run scheduled jobs like servicing or inspections, we can link or embed the booking tool you already use, at no extra cost.
Can you list my licence and insurance details?
Yes, we'll build a spot for your licence number, insurance and any trade association memberships during setup. It's one of the first things we ask for in the onboarding form.
What if I don't have good photos of my work?
Start taking a couple of phone photos on your next few jobs, before and after is enough. We'd rather launch with three real photos than a gallery of stock images, and we can add more as you send them through.
