Websites for builders

A builder website that shows the work and the process

A build or renovation is one of the biggest spends a household makes. People want to see finished projects and understand how you work before they ask for a quote.

What your customers are typing into Google

  • “builder near me”
  • “home renovation builders”
  • “kitchen renovation builder”
  • “bathroom renovation near me”
  • “home extension builder”
  • “granny flat builder”
  • “licensed builder near me”

What your website needs to do

Project galleries with some detail

A few finished projects, each with photos and a short note on what was done, beat a wall of unlabelled images. Say the type of job and the suburb, if the owner is happy for you to.

How a job runs, stage by stage

Quote, contract, approvals, build, handover. A short run-through of how you work tells a nervous client what happens next and sets expectations before the first call.

Licence and membership details

Building licensing varies by state and by the size of the job. Show your builder licence number and insurance, and list HIA or MBA membership only if you hold it.

Honest quote expectations

Say how you quote, how long a quote usually takes, and what you need to see first, like plans or a site visit. It filters out time wasters and reassures real clients.

The type of work you take on

Extensions, bathrooms, new builds and small repairs are different businesses. Name what you do and the rough size of jobs so people with the wrong project don't waste your time.

Common mistakes to avoid

Beautiful photos, no explanation

Photos alone leave out the part buyers care about, which is what you actually did and how the job went. A line or two under each project makes the work believable.

Listing every trade under the sun

A builder who claims to do everything looks like they specialise in nothing. Lead with the jobs you do most and want more of.

Association badges you don't hold

Showing HIA or MBA logos without a current membership is a fast way to lose trust and invite complaints. Only show what's yours.

Getting found on Google

Builders win work on trust, so local search is about proof. A Google Business Profile with the right builder category, project photos added regularly and reviews from past clients carries a lot of weight. On the site, pages for the work you want, like kitchen renovations or extensions, help you show up for those searches, and project write-ups give Google real content to read. Our Grow plan covers the profile, local SEO and two posts a month, which suits a trade that has plenty of finished work to show. We don't promise rankings, but a site with actual projects on it has an edge.

  • Sites with more than 5 pages
  • Online shops with a checkout
  • Logo and brand design
  • Custom booking systems or web apps

Questions from builders

Can I show lots of projects on the site?

Yes. We build a gallery section within the 5 pages and add the projects you send. A good photo set for three to five jobs is a strong start.

Can you include HIA or MBA membership?

Yes, if you're a current member. Send us your membership details in the onboarding form and we'll place them alongside your licence and insurance.

Will the site give prices for builds?

Only if you want it to. Most builders explain how they quote and what affects the cost instead of listing prices, which we can write for you.

Can you add a page per suburb?

Not at $500. The site has up to 5 pages, so we name your main areas across them. More location pages come with our Dominate plan.
