Websites for photographers
A photographer website that loads fast and starts the conversation
Your portfolio is your sales pitch. It has to load quickly, show the kind of work you want to be hired for, and make it easy to ask whether you're free on a date.
What your customers are typing into Google
- “wedding photographer near me”
- “family photographer”
- “newborn photographer”
- “corporate headshots near me”
- “product photographer”
- “event photographer”
What your website needs to do
A portfolio that loads quickly
Large images slow a site down, and slow sites lose visitors. We size and compress photos so they look sharp on a phone without making people wait.
Pages for the genres you actually shoot
Weddings, families, headshots and products attract different clients. Give your main genres their own page and show only work in that style on each.
An enquiry form that asks for the date
Availability is the first question for most shoots. A form that asks for the date, the location and the type of shoot lets you reply with a yes or no straight away.
Packages or starting prices
Many photographers avoid pricing, but buyers compare. A starting price or a guide to what's included saves enquiries from people who are way off your budget.
A short, real About page
Clients hire the photographer as much as the photos. A friendly intro, a portrait of you and your approach on the day makes booking easier.
Common mistakes to avoid
Huge uncompressed images
Full-size files straight off the camera make pages crawl, especially on mobile data. Visitors leave before they see a single shot.
A portfolio that mixes every genre
A wedding client scrolling through product shots and newborn portraits can't tell what you do best. Separate by genre.
A contact form with no date field
Without a date, you have to ask by email, adding a day to the exchange. Asking up front speeds up a booking.
Getting found on Google
Photography searches are local and genre-led, such as wedding photographer or newborn photographer, so a page per genre helps each find a match. A Google Business Profile, set up as a service area business if you travel, with a spread of your work, is a useful addition. Photos carry no text for search engines to read, so each page needs written context: the type of shoot, the location and what the day looked like. Our Grow plan covers the profile, local SEO and two posts a month. We can't promise rankings, but written context around your images gives search engines something to work with.

Questions from photographers
Will my photos load quickly?
Yes. We resize and compress your images so they look sharp but load fast, including on mobile. Send us your best images and we'll handle the rest.
Can I have a gallery for each type of shoot?
Yes, within the 5 pages. Most photographers give their two or three main genres a page each and keep the rest on the about or home page.
Can clients book and pay online?
We don't build booking or payment systems. We can link or embed a booking tool you already use at no extra cost. Otherwise an enquiry form with a date field works well.
Can you build a client proofing gallery?
No, we don't build private galleries. Most photographers use a dedicated delivery tool for that, and we can link to it from your site.
